Why is the Matrix needs our energy?
– It so happened that the reality in which we exist from birth until we transition to another world is organized in such a way that we are effectively reduced to the passive status of living batteries, providing energy for the Matrix. How is this possible, you might exclaim, this is unfair: on one hand, we, humans, highly intelligent beings, have conquered near Space, created powerful computers, and reached certain heights in philosophical and scientific thought. And on the other side — abstract Matrix. No. It’s not abstract. But the most real, indeed. Perhaps even more real than the reality we see out of the window every morning when we wake up. Confirmation of this is everywhere: you just need to “open your eyes wider” and take a closer look…
– One of the obvious but not immediately apparent questions: why does the Matrix need human energy? If it has such potential that it can organize a closed system for obtaining clean energy and exploit it for many centuries (a kind of “perpetual motion machine”), then why does it need us? Why create a complex virtual reality (or possibly even more than one) just to organize various spheres and platforms for experiments on human behavior and psyche within it, when a much simpler path could be taken? Possessing such capabilities as the System does, it would have been elementary to create a lighter and, at the same time, more reliable source of energy than the unpredictable and unstable homo sapiens.
– For W. Irwin, the answer to all of the above is obvious: it’s all because the Matrix feeds on human pleasure! In principle, this statement is not without common sense. Only to the word “pleasure” would I add the phrase “because every person and his personality is unique.” Therefore, the pleasure obtained by the System can confidently be multiplied by a rather impressive number or raised to a double-digit power. We derive pleasure from various and delicious food, so why shouldn’t the Matrix use the same algorithm?
– But it is obvious that pleasure is far from the only benefit that the System derives from us. Beside pleasure, the Matrix also utilizes our abilities, talents (both innate and acquired), analytical thinking, as well as the entire rich spectrum of human emotions. After all, homo sapiens is an extremely emotional being, often inconsistent, illogical, and at the same time, easily suggestible. An individual is easily trained and programmed using various kinds of programs, patterns, stereotypes, etc.
All this and much more gives the Matrix vast opportunities for experiments in the field of obtaining and applying various types of human energy. The Matrix collects the invaluable energy of its slaves, which accumulates in them while they “sleep”… and they can “sleep” their entire lives. If, of course, no one “wakes” them up.
